Oncology Staging
Assessing how far an oral tumour has developed and spread, to guide treatment.
What is it?
Oncology staging in veterinary dentistry is the process of assessing how far an oral tumour has developed and spread. It helps guide treatment decisions and determine prognosis.
This typically involves evaluating the size and local impact of the tumour, whether nearby lymph nodes are affected, and if there is any spread to other parts of the body.
What happens if it isn't treated?
If oncology staging is not carried out, the extent of the tumour may be underestimated, leading to inappropriate or ineffective treatment.
This can result in incomplete tumour removal, continued disease progression, and a higher risk of spread to lymph nodes or distant organs.
What happens next?
We include oncology staging in our Restore & Shine package for £1,290.
Before booking, we recommend discussing your pet's case with a member of our clinical team.
